Over the past 20 years my own life has changed dramatically, the choices I am able to make every day have more than doubled. Consumerism has gone crazy shops, Internet, catalogues, holidays, books, films, restaurants, take-aways. Its all meant to make life easier but does it?

If the local coffee shops are anything to go by, choice is the biggest time taker of all. It would take many years to taste all the coffee combinations if you had a different one each day.

Over a million people now spend 5 hours a day texting or talking on our mobile phones, think what you could do with a spare 5 hours?

I give an example of choosing which film to watch. Remember GREASE? A wee bit sad I know but I thought it was a great film! When I was a teenager we went to watch the film GREASE every week for 10 weeks, it was the only film out at our local cinema and now I could watch 10 different films in 1 week if I wanted to.

Is it any wonder that many people cannot find time to look for a new job, join the gym, put some spice back into their love lives or just spend quality time with families, if we all have quite a task on our hands thinking about which films we could watch, which coffee to drink or texting on our mobiles. Of course for many people on top of all those decisions there is work too.

The more choices we have the more challenges we have to make sure we live a happy, successful and fulfilling life. In order to meet life's challenges we need to focus and plan to succeed.

When I began life coaching one of the first things that spurred me onto make changes was when someone shared this with me.

Presuming you live to be 70 years old you have 840 months to live the life you want and if you get to 35 years old then you have 420 months left in which to live the life you want to live. You don't need a calculator for that one, once this second has passed it's gone forever.

Now I don’t have to tell you that you cannot delay making plans and changes to live your happy successful fulfilling life because Life is very precious.
